Who We Are
There is a wonderful group of talented women who have been meeting in the
Richmond Catholic Church Hall on Tuesdays since the 1970's to hook and socialize.

Group members include (in alphabetical order):

Jill A: quilter as well as hooker and friend to Gwen the store owner.

Kathy B: still calls herself a beginner, though her rugs are striking! She just learned to
dye, so watch out!

Betty B.: fearless leader and person in charge of church hall arrangements.  One of
Betty's rugs was in Celebrations.

Me: Sara B - owner of Violet Jane, addicted to dyeing.

Barbara C: not a hooker at all, but we like her braided rugs and her company, so we
let her stay with the group.

Mary C: a puncher, not a hooker, but a good one!

Willie C.:  no, she's not related to the famous skiers from this area, but she plays a
mean game of tennis when not hooking rugs that are just way too big.  A photo of her
stair runner appeared in Rug Hooking magazine. She had a one-woman show of her
rugs at Deborah Rawson Memorial library in Jericho, Vermont.

Betty E.: a Hinesburg hooker as well as a Richmond hooker, which explains her
doubled talent.

Tina F.: one word describes Tina - enthusiastic. She just learned to dye, which she
did enthusiastically.

Priscilla H.: another Hinesburg hooker.  Loves bright colors and does impeccable work.

Jean L.: bravely hooking a beautiful large rug for a daughter. Did I mention that it's
large?

Myrna L.: does wonderful work, but it's sometimes hard to catch her, since she travels
away a lot.

Karen M.: knows a lot about whatever you need to know, because she takes university
courses for fun. And she can hook and talk at the same time.

Jane P.: infectious laugh.  Listen carefully to what she says, because it's always
prophetic.

Bobbi P.:  realistically shades flowers with her hands tied behind her back.  Has every
tool you could possibly need.

Barbara R.: a punch-hooker and another Hinesburg hooker.  She has a house for
sale that would be perfect for you! Large bedrooms, on a cul-de-sac, and  close to 2
hooking groups!

Arlene S.:  owner of Singing Bird recycled wool fabrics. She had a one-woman show at
a library in Massachusetts. I like to sit next to her and chat.

Amy S.:  a perfectionist whose rugs are color-perfect.  She looks like a well-mannered
woman, but watch out for her quick wit.

Ruth St. G: most prolific - without sacrificing quality - of all of us rug hookers.

I accept information from all members to include on this page. I hope to have links for
each of us, instead of these cryptic descriptions. Email me your photos!  Don't be
surprised to see me taking photos on Tuesdays to be included here. And let me know
if you don't want your name/photo on the world wide web. - Sara
